The Debut Collaborative Album from Alex Ring Gray, Vicki Leona Nguyen, and Mark G

New York, NY: Today cmntx records releases the label’s first full-length album, HUM. This ambitious collaborative effort between composers Alex Ring Gray, Vicki Leona Nguyen, and Mark G was composed and recorded in 2019 in Nashville, TN. The former classmates at the University of Tennessee create a foundation of experimentation and innovation with unique instruments made from scavenged materials. The work is guided by these materials passing through sections of bowed metal, strings, and struck metal. The resulting textures range from thin and delicate to dense washes of sound.

HUM is available in spatial audio mixes by Toshi Tsuruoka of Ecotone Lab on Bandcamp, Apple Music, TIDAL, and Amazon Music.

The collaborative efforts within the album stretch beyond the music featuring artwork and an upcoming visualizer video release designed by the three composers.
