Dan Siegler is a Bessie Award-winning composer and sound artist from New York City. His work combines electronic and organic elements, incorporating references to jazz, blues and folk. Strongly influenced by musique concrète, these compositions employ a mixture of analog synthesizers, orchestration for concert instruments, glitch sound material and field recordings.

Program will feature works from Siegler's new album and beyond.

This event is hosted and sponsored by cmntx records. cmntx records is a New York City-based label committed to supporting artists with distinct, multifaceted practices. cmntx was founded in 2021 by four composers whose musical backgrounds didn't fit neatly into one "classical" box, and sought to help document and promote the work of other non-traditional artists in our community. Our projects often cross lines and limitations of genre, aesthetic, and medium.

cmntx has made it our mission to make record production accessible and affordable for artists, and produce many of our projects in-house through DIY community collaboration. As artists ourselves, we strongly believe that artists should maintain primary ownership of their creations, and not be tied down through exclusive agreements.
