Dan Langa is a Northampton, MA-based composer, producer, recording and mix engineer primarily focused on electroacoustic music that explores vivid, bold textures. A collaborative spirit, Langa often works across mediums and genres, teaming up with other artists in film, dance, and other areas of music to create multimedia works. 

A sought-after producer, engineer, and composer for film and television, Langa works primarily out of The Honey Jar recording studio in Dumbo, Brooklyn.

Langa has received awards, grants, and recognition from the ASCAP Foundation, Ucross Foundation, Fire Island National Seashore, I-Park Foundation, Du Vert à L'Infini Festival, RED NOTE New Music Festival, Hot Air Music Festival, So Percussion Summer Institute, Bang On A Can Summer Festival, Fresh Inc Festival, The Ear Competition, Amherst College, New York University, and the University of South Carolina Spark Laboratory.

Langa earned his BA in Music from Amherst College, graduating magna cum laude with the highest departmental honors, studying with Eric Sawyer, John McDonald, Bruce Diehl, Eric Wubbels, and Ryan Vigil. He was awarded the Eric Edward Sundquist Prize for excellence in musical composition and performance. Langa received his Master’s Degree in Music Theory and Composition from New York University, studying with Julia Wolfe and Robert Honstein. He holds teaching positions at Amherst College, Mount Holyoke College, and Smith College.
